Verified SDVOSB Program: Patriot  is happy to announce that we have been officially certified and verified as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business by the Veterans Administration. The VA began a new initiative in 2011 to ensure that all businesses using the SDVOSB and VOSB labels are legitimately veteran-owned. Along with certifying businesses, the VA also offers a website where potential customers can look up businesses and confirm their status. Simply visit the VetBiz site, and search for companies based on set criteria. This is a wonderful tool for those in procurement who need to meet minority business quotas.

Patriot has always been an SDVOSB and is glad to have the VA’s certification to back us. It gives our customers certainty that their purchases with us will meet their SDVOSB goals.

The new and improved Small Business Administration (SBA) Small Disadvantaged Business Development Program has been strengthened and improved to be a truly effective business development vehicle. Patriot can receive sole-source and set-aside contracts, up to a ceiling of $3M each for services and products and $5M each for manufacturing. Federal acquisition policies encourage Federal agencies to award a percentage of their contracts to certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB).

Patriot LLC has been officially verified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) in Washington DC, as outlined in a letter written to the company by Scott Denniston, Director.  Patriot has been added to the verified veteran business database at www.VetBiz.gov and is now eligible to participate in the "Veterans First Contracting Program" with VA.

The goal of the CVE is to establish a strong veterans' movement by branding the Company's status as a verified service-disabled veteran-owned small business, helping to better position the company for set-aside projects and non-competitive contracting opportunities under Public Law 109-461 that provides the Department of Veterans Affairs with unique buying authority.

The benefits of the Veterans First Contracting Program are as follows:

·   Redefines priorities for contracting preferences within VA, placing SDVOSB's and VOSB's first and second respectively, in satisfying VA's acquisition requirements.

·   Allows sole source contracts over the Simplified Acquisition Threshold up to $5M (including options).

·   Implements restricted competition via Set-Aside Procedures for each category of SDVOSB's and VOSB's.

·   Allows verifiable credit evaluation factors for SDVOSB's and VOSB's status.

·   Authorizes large VA prime contractors to obtain subcontracting credit for SDVOSB's and VOSB's only when they contract with verified firms in VIP.
